Kitty Club is a Non governmental, Non-profit organisation working in various fields along with Government and private sectors for awareness generation since 2005.Energy Conservation, Waste management, Natural Resource Management, Formation and strengthening of Micro group, Health Promotion, Child Development and Community Engineering etc. are some among them. The organization adopts a community oriented participatory method in its activities. We have specialized team for various media activities for disseminating the messages on various themes.We are using a combination of both information and entertainment called INFORTAINMENT as a base for the program.
Ventriloquism is an interactive communication media with naughty monkey.Ventriloquism is an art of making an inanimate object seems to come alive. It is a powerful medium of communication to disseminate difficult social messages in rural areas. Integration of messaging with local culture helps rural people relate and respond easily.
Ventriloquism is an art of “throwing” one’s voice in such a way that the sound seems to come from a source other than the speaker.A dummy or doll is commonly used to assist in the deception, with the ventriloquist moving the dummy’s mouth while speaking through closed lips. The art was long a feature of puppet shows as well as of variety entertainment such as vaudeville. Kitty the talking monkey is an interactive medium of communication through entertainment. The jokes and naughty communication make people to understand and people can ask their doubts regarding the subjects.The monkey creates curiosity and excitement in the audience and holds them for a long time. Doubt clearances another peculiarity of the monkey show.
Mr. Vinod Naranat and Kitty are inseparable chums. While Kitty is mischievous, impulsive and blunt, Vinod is soft spoken and gentle.Vinod who hails from Ernakulum began his career as a magician. It was a meeting with Ventriloquist Prahaladacharya in 1987 that diverted his interest in this field. It took Mr.Vinod nearly six years of single minded dedication and practice to master the craft. He is the one and only Ventriloquist who dedicated his professional life exclusively for social service. ‘Kitty’ has become popular after its creator Vinod Naranat, the young magician and Ventriloquist, took up social issues.

Not many would be ready to listen if someone started lecturing on HIV/AIDS or any other topic at a busy junction.Howe ever, people spend their valuable time to listen to Kitty and ask awareness among the public question.So,for creating awareness among the public, the government and non-government organisations are using‘Kittyshow’ as a powerful tool.Many corporate business organisations are also using Kitty show for the promotion of their products and services.
In fact, this communication media is widely accepted for awareness generation programmes,Advertisements, events etc.Mr.Vinod Naranat is using a very attractive folk art called “Garudavadam”(Ventriloquism) to communicate with the people. Ever since Mr.Vinod has started practicing the art, he showed his excellence in over 15000 stages across nine countries within the last sixteen year on various subjects.He has been associating with various government departments and non-government organisations forIEC activities. Some among them are Total Sanitation Campaign,EnergyConservationCampaigns,NationalRuralEmploymentGuaranteeScheme,and Campaigning on HIV AIDS,LifeStyleDiseases and Condom Promotion in association with Kerala StateAids Control Society and NRHM, Grand Kerala Shopping Festival,campaigning on Domestic violence, Social awareness campaign for Dooradarshan etc...

Aspart of the total sanitation campaign,Mr.Vinod Naranat performed more than 2000 shows across the state of Kerala. The objective of the campaign is waste generates continuous awareness among people to fight for a clean and healthy environment and society’.This programme was designed to aware theschool children and public about their personal hygiene, family hygiene,and also the social hygiene.It also gave some lessons for control the communicable diseases. Mr.Vinod and his Kitty played a key role in this campaign.
As part of the Energy Conservation Campaigns,Mr.Vinod associated with Kerala State Council for Science and Technology(KSCSTE), ANERT,EnergyManagementCentre(EMC)EnergyMission,EnergyEfficiency Centre for conducting various conservation awareness campaigning.Mr.Vinodand his Kitty performed over a hundred shows and they attracted hundreds of people to the campaign.
As part of the National Rural Employees Guarantee Scheme,Mr.Vinod and his Kitty conducted 285 shows in Ernakulum and Thrissur district in 2008.The central government’s project turns under thePovertyAlleviationUnit(PAU)got a huge publicity through the‘KittyShows’.
Mr.Vinod conducted hundreds of programmes in association with,FoodSafety,RoadSafety, Life style diseases, Communicable diseases, HIV/AIDS, condom promotion etc. Vinod was a trainer atRRE(Red Ribbon Express),specially designed train by NACO forHIV/AIDS prevention message popularisation.
